After years of retirement talk, farewell statements, and long stretches away from the stage, David Lee Roth is officially back on the road. The legendary former Van Halen frontman has announced a 30-date North American solo tour scheduled for spring and summer 2026, marking one of his most extensive touring runs in years.

The tour kicks off on April 16 in Airway Heights, Washington, and will carry Roth across the United States and Canada through June, before a final summer appearance in Sturgis, South Dakota in August. At 71 years old, Roth is proving that his so-called “retirements” are anything but permanent.

A Return That’s Been Building for Years

Roth’s 2026 tour follows a carefully staged return to live performance. In May 2025, he played his first full solo concert in more than five years at the M3 Rock Festival, famously joking onstage: “We’ve reached the end of my first retirement.”

That comeback continued through a limited run of U.S. dates in summer 2025, which concluded in Napa, California, and clearly set the stage for a larger tour cycle.

While Roth officially announced his retirement in early 2022 and canceled his Las Vegas farewell shows, the last few years have told a different story. Studio sessions, surprise releases, festival appearances, and now a full-scale tour point to an artist who still feels very much at home under the spotlight.

What Fans Can Expect on This Tour

Roth’s recent solo shows have leaned heavily into classic Van Halen material, delivered with a stripped-down, live-in-the-room approach. In the past two years, he has released solo versions of iconic tracks such as “Jump,” “Panama,” “Unchained,” “Ain’t Talkin’ ’Bout Love,” and “Everybody Wants Some!!” - all recorded live in the studio with no samples and no Auto-Tune.

His current touring band features guitarist Al Estrada, bassist Ryan Wheeler, drummer Francisco Valentino, and keyboardist Danny Wagner, a lineup that has already proven itself during Roth’s recent comeback shows.

Expect a setlist rooted in legacy, swagger, and raw delivery rather than nostalgia polish.

Ticket Information

Artist presales begin January 6 at 10 a.m. local time, with the general public on-sale starting January 9 at 10 a.m. local time. Given the size of venues and the limited nature of Roth’s touring schedule in recent years, demand is expected to be high.

Still Standing, Still Singing

Roth once said that at his age, “everything is a possible farewell tour.” But this new run suggests something else entirely. Whether this is a victory lap, a final chapter, or simply another unexpected turn in a famously unpredictable career, one thing is clear: David Lee Roth is not done yet.

For longtime fans, this tour is more than just another set of dates. It’s a reminder that some frontmen don’t fade quietly - they exit on their own terms, microphone in hand.
