Portuguese extreme metal outfit GAEREA have released a brand new single and music video titled “Phoenix”, taken from their upcoming album Loss, due out on March 20, 2026.

“Phoenix” arrives as the final single ahead of the album’s release and delivers a powerful statement of resilience, rebirth and emotional confrontation. The accompanying music video, directed by Tre Film, embraces a dystopian, steampunk inspired aesthetic that visually amplifies the song’s themes.

The band describe the track as a reflection on endurance and transformation:“Phoenix is a song about surviving betrayal and suffering, then using that pain as fuel to become stronger instead of letting it corrode you. Beaten down, scarred, and left in the dark, we rise again, break the chains, and reclaim control.”

Musically, “Phoenix” highlights GAEREA’s evolving sound, blending the intensity of their post black metal roots with haunting melodies, expansive atmospheres and an increasingly emotional vocal approach. It serves as a defining bridge between the band’s past and the bold direction they explore on Loss.
