The German power metal group 'Helloween' has confirmed that they will halt all upcoming performances for the rest of the year after vocalist Michael Kiske developed a significant throat and respiratory condition. Their planned December concerts in Indonesia, Malaysia and Taiwan, part of the ongoing "40 Years Anniversary Tour", have been officially cancelled.
In a message posted on their social media accounts, the band explained:"Dear pumpkinheads, we regret to announce that we are forced to cancel the scheduled 'Helloween' concerts in Asia. During the recently finished European leg, Michael Kiske contracted acute pharyngolaryngotracheitis and asthmatic dyspnea with bronchitis, and his doctor has prescribed immediate bed rest."
They apologized to fans affected by the announcement, adding:"We are truly sorry for our fans in Indonesia, Malaysia and Taiwan, but Michael's health is our highest priority. To avoid long-term damage to his voice, this decision is unavoidable."
The statement ended with a hopeful note:"We wish Michael a fast and full recovery and look forward to bringing our full 40th anniversary show to our Asian fans in 2026!"
Before the cancellation, 'Helloween' had completed a successful run through cities like London, Paris and Luxembourg, where they received enthusiastic responses from crowds. They also performed two consecutive shows at La Cubierta de Leganés in Madrid on November 15 and 16, accompanied by 'Beast In Black'. As part of the "40 Years Anniversary Tour", the band has been presenting their latest album Giants & Monsters, which specialized media has praised as one of the strongest works of their career.
Since the tour began in late September, it has earned outstanding reviews thanks to its large-scale production featuring giant screens, 3D effects and a crisp sound that highlights their signature power metal style. The North American leg is scheduled to begin on April 7, 2026 in Dallas, Texas, and conclude on May 2, 2026 in Las Vegas.
